Tear Trough Filler in Hertfordshire

What Are Tear Trough Fillers?

Tear trough fillers, also known as under-eye fillers, are a non-surgical treatment that lifts sunken eyes, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, and brightens dark under-eye circles. Ageing, poor sleep patterns, smoking or genetic factors can lead to the formation of tear troughs on your face.

These are dark hollows beneath your eyes, which create a sunken, aged look. Under-eye fillers target tear troughs by brightening the skin around the eye and adding volume beneath the eyelids to create a radiant and more youthful look.

How Does Under Eye Fillers Work?

Tear trough fillers consist of hyaluronic acid. This is a naturally occurring substance, which helps your skin to retain the moisture that it needs to maintain a bright and volumised look.

During a tear trough treatment, hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin surrounding the eye. This fills in tear troughs by lifting and brightening the eye area. Hyaluronic acid also stimulates the production of collagen in your body, which further plumps and smooths the skin over time.

Am I a Good Candidate for this Treatment?

Tear trough treatments are safe for patients of all ages. If your tear troughs have been caused by ageing or genetic factors, then this treatment is the one for you. Conversely, you are probably not a good candidate for under-eye fillers if your tear troughs are a result of poor sleep patterns, stress or alcohol consumption, as these under-eye bags will fluctuate and disappear if the patient’s lifestyle is altered.

Typically, a tear trough treatment will take ten to fifteen minutes to complete.

You will see the results of your under-eye filler treatment immediately. These results will improve over the course of the first two weeks following the regimen.

Under-eye fillers are not painful; however, considering that they are injections, they may be slightly uncomfortable. A topical anaesthetic, a numbing cream or an ice pack will be used to numb your face and reduce the risk of bruising.

The effects of your tear trough fillers will last for approximately one year. After this time has elapsed, you will have to repeat the procedure.

Tear trough treatments are exceptionally safe. As with any injections, you may experience redness, itchiness, swelling or bruising at the injection site during the first two to three days after the procedure. These symptoms will subside after a few days have passed, and they will completely disappear within a few weeks.

The best under-eye fillers consist of a substance called hyaluronic acid. When used in dermal fillers, it is sometimes referred to as Restylane. Hyaluronic acid is produced naturally by your body, and it is mostly found in your skin, eyes and connective tissues.

It encourages your body to retain water, which in turn keeps your skin soft and looking radiant. During a tear trough treatment, additional hyaluronic acid is injected beneath the skin surrounding the eye to brighten and volumise your face.

Under-eye fillers are not permanent. To maintain the effects of your tear trough treatment, you will have to repeat the procedure after one year.
